Om verket
Marc Chagall turned to a farm subject in The Trough, a lithograph of 1924 in Washington's National Gallery of Art. The scene includes a pig and feeding trough. This black impression uses wove paper and measures 56.5 by 37.1 centimetres. It was exhibited in the 1995 survey of Chagall's early prints and drawings, the year the Pinkuses donated it.
