A street view looking past the wall and steps of S. Lourenço Church, Macau, with a group of Chinese figures and cattle at the foot of the steps, and a crucifix by the parapet above. The Barretto family (named in the title of this drawing in the manuscript index) had been prominent since the sixteenth century in the Portuguese communities of Goa and Macau.
