O obrazie
Paul Cézanne painted Three Pears in 1878–1879; the small canvas is in the Washington collection of the National Gallery of Art. Two green pears stand upright, while the fruit between them lies on its side. Dark blue contours enclose the forms against a brown ground. Long parallel brushstrokes remain visible, and a narrow strip of bare canvas runs along the top.
