O rzeźbie

In 1841 Antoine-Louis Barye modelled Python Crushing a Crocodile, the animal group represented by a cast in Washington, at the National Gallery of Art. The cast dates to 1873 or earlier. Barye pairs two reptiles, with the snake constricting the crocodile rather than simply resting alongside it. The group is displayed in room G-021.
