O obrazie
Claude Monet painted Poplars in 1891; this autumn view belongs to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Three trees stand in the foreground, with a curving line of others behind them. Monet worked from a boat on the Epte near Giverny, changing canvases as the light shifted. The painting was included in the Paris exhibition of his poplar series at Durand-Ruel's gallery in February 1892.
