O dziele

Two designs for beds in a chinoiseries style (European decorative arts and architectural style inspired by fanciful ideas of China and East Asia). Above, a crown canopy (baldachin) bed topped with feather finials, and hanging swags of textiles, with bells, tassels, and passementeries. The headboard and footboard are the same height, the back of boards feature floral motifs, with hanging festoons of flowers. The frame is carved with fleurons, an acanthus leaf clasp, scrolling leaves (rinceaux), and tassels. The lower design is a bed without a canopy, in the style of a daybed, view from the front. The bed linen features floral motifs, the skirt has hanging swags of textiles with tassels and bows. The bed frame is carved with scrolling acanthus leaves, hanging tassels and bells. A scale below each design. The plate is titled, numbered, and signed.
