O rzeźbie

An ivory gazelle holds its head erect on a wooden pedestal in this Egyptian sculpture of about 1386–1347 BCE at the Met in New York. Inlaid plants on the base refer to the animal's semi-desert habitat. The ears have broken away, and the separately made horns are missing. Blue pigment accompanies the inlay; the group measures 11.6 cm high.
