Het hele leven
  1. 2003

Represents Denmark at the Venice Biennale

Eliasson represents Denmark at the 50th Venice Biennale; later that year he opens “The Weather Project” at Tate Modern.

  2. 2003

    Marries Marianne Krogh Jensen

He marries the Danish art historian Marianne Krogh Jensen; the couple adopt a son (in 2003) and a daughter (in 2006) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The family lived in a house designed by the architect Andreas Lauritz Clemmensen in Hellerup near Copenhagen; the marriage later ended.

  5. 2006

Eye See You lamps for Louis Vuitton and the 121Ethiopia foundation

Commissioned by Louis Vuitton, about four hundred deliberately low-tech lamps — a monofrequency light source and a parabolic mirror — are installed in the stores' Christmas windows, while a lamp titled You See Me goes on permanent display at Louis Vuitton Fifth Avenue in New York. All fees are donated to 121Ethiopia.org, a charitable foundation he initially established with his wife to renovate an orphanage.

  6. 2007–2010

“Take Your Time” — his first major US survey

SFMOMA, with curator Madeleine Grynsztejn, presents Eliasson's first major survey in the United States, spanning his work from 1993 to 2007; the museum's skylight bridge is turned into the installation “One-way colour tunnel”. The exhibition then tours to the Museum of Modern Art and P.S.1 in New York (2008), Dallas (2008–2009), Chicago (2009) and Sydney (2009–2010).
