Over het werk
A.E Popham suggested the attribution to Jean Cousin the Elder based on similarities with a drawing of the same subject in the Fenwick collection. The composition and the figures recall the painting showing the Lamentation over the Dead Christ in the Musée des Beaux-Arts, Lille.
