This statuette representing St. George and the Dragon probably formed part of a small altarpiece or was a free-standing figure. This statuette is carved in several sections and some parts are later replacements. Three-dimentional images of St George were ubiquitous in the Tyrol and South Germany. The square shoes -if the replacements follow the original- and the costume point to a date of about 1510-20. The presents condition and the poor quality does not however permit a more specific attribution.
