The River Valley is a c. 1626–1630 painting by the Dutch artist Hercules Seghers (c. 1589/90–1640). It is now in the Rijksmuseum, in Amsterdam, which acquired it in May 1931.
Segers incorporated elements from the Flemish landscape tradition, such as the high vantage point, rocky mountains, and thin painting technique with thicker accents. The way in which Segers rendered depth with colour and contrasts of light and dark is reminiscent of Pieter Bruegel and his followers.
