About the sculpture

This is a gypsum fragment of a relief representing two figures seated on a wine skin and part of a third standing. This fragment has been recently sawn into a roughly rectangular shape and the back smoothed. It was found in the Palace of Ashurbanipal at Kouyunjik near Ninve.
