Over het werk

Drie scènes uit het verhaal van Izebel. Achab liggend in bed, zijn vrouw Izebel staand bij bed probeert hem op te beuren. Door raam is Naboth te zien die Achab wijngaar weigert, door deuropening is de steniging van Naboth te zien.

    He cut woodcut illustrations for the Chronicles of Holland, Zeeland and Friesland by the humanist Cornelius Aurelius.

    Meeting Dürer in Antwerp

    During Dürer's Netherlandish journey the two artists met in Antwerp between 8 and 21 June 1521; they exchanged prints, and on this occasion Dürer drew a portrait of Lucas van Leyden.
