Portraits of Picasso, Braque, Léger, Cocteau and Giacometti
From the post-war years through the 1970s Doisneau produced children's books, advertising photography and celebrity portraits — Alberto Giacometti, Jean Cocteau, Fernand Léger, Georges Braque, Pablo Picasso. He worked with writers and poets such as Blaise Cendrars and Jacques Prévert, and credited Prévert with giving him the confidence to photograph everyday street scenes.

Contrejour published Doisneau's book “Trois secondes d’éternité” (“Three Seconds of Eternity”).

The Lavergnes believe they are the couple in “The Kiss”
Jean and Denise Lavergne, convinced that they were the couple in “The Kiss”, arranged a meeting with Doisneau and his assistant Annette; their belief was not confirmed, but nor were they told otherwise, so as not to shatter the lovers' dream.
