Eva Moore

Ink and wash portrait drawing of the actress Eva Moore (1868-1955) as Kathie in Rudolf Bleichmann's play, Old Heidelberg, St James's Theatre, 1909. The drawing was made by the actor Ernest Thesiger (1879-1961) who also appeared in the play. Thesiger was a trained artist and had studied at the Slade School of Art, intending to become a painter. After success as an amateur actor, he changed careers, making his professional debut in 1909 in a short-lived comedy, Colonel Smith, before appearing in Old Heidelberg later that year.
