Christus, met doornenkroon en mantel, wordt aan het volk (in dit geval de beschouwer) getoond. Rechts staat Pontius Pilatus die naar Christus gebaart. Op de voorgrond bezwijkt Maria van verdriet en wordt ondersteund door een andere vrouw. Links een soldaat. Tekst in ondermarge.
