Filippino Lippi의 생애 속 이 작품
생애 전체 보기1457
Born
1467
Goes with his father to Spoleto
In 1467 his father, at work on the building of Spoleto Cathedral, took his son with him. Filippino, who was training in his father's workshop, served there as a workshop assistant.
1469
His father dies; apprenticed to Fra Diamante
In 1469 Fra Filippo died in Spoleto, leaving his twelve-year-old son to learn painting under his chief assistant Fra Diamante. Filippino was among the assistants who completed his father's frescoes of the Life of the Virgin in the cathedral.
1472
Joins Botticelli's workshop
From 1472 Filippino worked in the Florentine workshop of Sandro Botticelli, a former pupil of his father whom he had first met in Spoleto; the painters' guild records of 1472 list him as Botticelli's only assistant, living in his master's house. That same year Sandro enrolled him in the Compagnia di San Luca, and the young artist painted an “Annunciation” (now in the Gallerie dell'Accademia, Venice).
21 April 1487
Filippo Strozzi commissions his chapel frescoes
On 21 April 1487 Filippo Strozzi commissioned the artist to decorate the family chapel in Santa Maria Novella with stories of Saint John the Evangelist and Saint Philip. The work was soon interrupted by his departure for Rome and dragged on for many years.
27 August 1488
Cardinal Carafa's commission takes him to Rome
On 27 August 1488, on Lorenzo de' Medici's recommendation, Cardinal Oliviero Carafa commissioned Filippino to fresco his family chapel in the Roman church of Santa Maria sopra Minerva. The artist, then in his early thirties, set off for Rome.
