The Pool at Jas de Bouffan, also known as Jas de Bouffan, the Pool, is an oil-on-canvas landscape painting by the French artist Paul Cézanne, created around 1876. The work measures approximately 46.1 by 56.3 centimetres and is held in the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Auvers-sur-Oise: Meeting Dr. Gachet
He lived with Hortense and their son in Auvers-sur-Oise, where he met the physician and art lover Paul Gachet (later Van Gogh's doctor), who made his studio available to him.

First Impressionist Exhibition
He took part in the first group exhibition of the future Impressionists in the studio of the photographer Nadar; his "A Modern Olympia" provoked critical outrage. "The House of the Hanged Man" was bought by Count Doria for 300 francs — one of the few paintings sold.
1875
Meeting the Collector Victor Chocquet
Through Renoir he met Victor Chocquet, a customs inspector and collector, who bought three of his works and became the artist's most devoted collector.
1877
Sixteen Works at the Third Impressionist Exhibition
He presented 16 works at the third Impressionist exhibition, once again met with harsh criticism. It was the last time he exhibited with the Impressionists.
March 1878
His Father Learns of Hortense and Their Son
Owing to a careless letter from Chocquet, his father learned of the hidden family and cut his allowance in half; Cézanne had to ask Zola for help. In September the father relented and granted the family 400 francs.
