About the sculpture
An unknown man is shown facing slightly to the right. He has curly hair and side burns and is dressed in a frock coat with a plain, pleated shirt and high collar.
It is unclear whether the name 'N. Palmer' which is handwritten on the reverse refers to the artist or sitter.
