この絵画について
『穀物の収穫』（こくもつのしゅうかく、蘭: De korenoogst、英: The Harvesters）は、初期フランドル派の巨匠ピーテル・ブリューゲルが1565年に板上に油彩で制作した絵画である。7月か8月、または晩夏の収穫時期を描いたものである。 作品は、アントウェルペンの金融業者で美術収集家でもあったニコラース・ヨンゲリンク により委嘱された。作品は1919年以来、ニューヨークのメトロポリタン美術館に所蔵されている。

Marries Mayken Coecke and moves to Brussels
He moved from Antwerp to Brussels and married Mayken Coecke, daughter of Pieter Coecke van Aelst and Mayken Verhulst: the deposition for the marriage was registered on 25 July 1563 and the wedding took place in the Chapel Church in Brussels. According to van Mander, his mother-in-law pressed for the move to distance him from his long-standing mistress, a servant girl.

A son, Pieter, was born — the future Pieter Brueghel the Younger; the father died when both sons were very small, and their grandmother Mayken Verhulst trained them.
