作品について
A pen and ink drawing with watercolour highlights, of the actor/manager Sir Henry Irving (1838-1905) as he appeared in the title role of Robert McCaire in the play by John Palgrave Simpson (1807–1887). The sketch is not dated but has been signed by the artist, L.J.Binns.
Irving first produced this play for an all-star fund-raising matinee in aid of the Royal College of Music in 1883, then revived it again in 1888.
