A drawing of the wooded hillside known as the Casa Gardens. (The 'Casa da Horta' was the large house leased by the Periera family to the East India Company until 1834; it is now the headquarters of the Fundação Oriente. Its gardens in Chinnery's time encompassed the 'rocks of Camões', some of which are seen on the left.)
