The drawing by Guy Sheppard (1912-1990) was probably made when Andre Eglevsky danced the Blue Bird in the Blue Bird pas de deux from Marius Petipa's ballet The Sleeping Beauty during Ballet Theatre's season at Covent Garden in July 1946. It shows the dancer in the temps de poisson movement which is a significant feature in the Blue Bird's solo.
