This bronze cast statuette of a Panther walking is made by Rembrandt Bugatti in ca.1906.
Bugatti was an Italian animal sculptor. He was the son of the decorative artist and furniture designer Carlo Bugatti and nephew of the car manufacturer Berto Bugatti. He worked as an assistant under his father but then turned to sculpture. From around 1900 he lived in Paris and made his animal studies in the zoo: they were cast in bronze by A.A. Hébrard. He is influenced by Troubetzkoy.
