Con le parole del museo — in olandese

De held Gaius Mucius Scaevola ten voeten uit, een zwaard in de rechterhand, de schede in de linkerhand. Op de achtergrond is te zien hoe hij zijn rechterhand voor koning Porsenna onverschrokken in het vuur steekt. Onder de voorstelling twee maal twee versregels in Latijn. Kopie naar gravure van Hendrick Goltzius uit 1586.
