Sulla scultura

This group appears to be based on a scene from Ovid's Metamorphoses. It shows the female centaur Hylonome attacked druing the battle between lapiths and centaurs at the marriage feast of Hippodame and Pirithous.

The origins of Francesco Bertos are unknown but he is documented as working in Rome (1693), Venice (1710) and Padua (1733-34).
