De engel doet het geitenbokje en brood, dat Gideon heeft gebracht, ontvlammen. Op de achtergrond de scène die vooraf ging. Gideon ontmoet de engel op de dorsvloer. Gideon en andere mannen houden een dorsvlegel in de hand. Onder de voorstelling een verwijzing in het Latijn naar de Bijbeltekst in Ri. 6:12.
