Voorstelling van twee volwassen dolfijnen en een babydolfijn, die zwemmen in de buurt van een strand waarop een dode krokodil ligt. Dit blad is onderdeel van de embleemserie 'Leven van Maria in emblemen'. De eerste staat van deze serie behelst naast een titelpagina en 26 emblemen ook drie bladen met lofzangen op Maria in boekdruk zonder afbeelding.

Declines to serve Louis XIII
King Louis XIII of France offers Callot a place at his court, but the artist declines; by one account, as a patriot of Lorraine he could not forgive the king for the devastation of his homeland by French troops.
