A műről
Waves is a low, wide linocut M. C. Escher made in 1918, now at Washington’s National Gallery of Art. Brown ink on pale tan paper describes curving waves that break in different directions. The image is only 7.1 centimetres high but 17.2 wide. Escher’s graphite signature appears below it at the right.
