Death interrupts a meal inside a Flemish Rosary Bead of about 1525–1550 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Carved in boxwood, the scene includes an overturned jug and a dying guest. Above it, angels announce the Last Judgment. The gilded silver casing may have replaced a wooden shell; small perforations suggest that it could also have held a scented substance.
