Interieur van een veilingzaal waar een prentenveiling gaande is. In het midden van de tafel zit de veilinghouder, Hassel Hutchins. Tegenover hem in de schaduw zit zijn klerk achter een bureau. De geïnteresseerden, gedeeltelijk bekende prenthandelaren en verzamelaars, zitten en staan achter lange tafels. Twee ophouders tonen een prent en een album.
