Dans la vie de Nan Goldin
La vie entière1986–1998
Her pictures in other people's films
In “Working Girls” (1986) the photographs attributed to the heroine Molly are Goldin's; in Mary Harron's “I Shot Andy Warhol” (1996) she is credited with “special photography”. The photographs of the heroine of Lisa Cholodenko's “High Art” (1998) are based on her work.
1994
“Tokyo Love” with Nobuyoshi Araki
A joint book with the Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki is published in Tokyo; the English edition follows in 1995.
from 1995
New subjects: landscapes, water, family life
From 1995 her work takes in a collaborative book with Araki, New York City skylines and uncanny landscapes, people (notably in water), her lover Siobhan, and then babies, parenthood and family life. Her photographs move from scenes of dangerous youthful abandon to family life in ever more varied settings around the world.
1995
BBC documentary “I'll Be Your Mirror”
Edmund Coulthard makes a documentary about her for the BBC, titled, like her show, “I'll Be Your Mirror”. In 1996 it receives a Teddy Award at the Berlin International Film Festival and the City of Melbourne Award at the Melbourne International Film Festival.
