Peut-on la contempler ?
Londres, Royaume-Uni
Elle appartient à la collection, mais n’est pas présentée en ce moment.
Painted illustration created for publication in a newspaper/illustrated magazine. It appears to have been cut down from a larger image and shows an audience watching a theatrical performance, possibly an opera, the conductor in the orchestra pit in the foreground. The image is not signed or dated but is likely to be from circa 1900.
This item is one of several theatrical drawings from a collection of sketches commissioned from contemporary artists to be printed in illustrated magazines. The collection was donated to the museum by Sir William James Ingram in 1914.
