La Descente de Croix est une peinture à l'huile sur toile réalisée entre 1650 et 1652 à l'atelier de Rembrandt, par un de ses élèves, probablement Constantijn van Renesse, encadré par son maître. Il fait maintenant partie des collections de la National Gallery of Art à Washington.

Beginning of His Relationship with Hendrickje Stoffels
In early 1649 Rembrandt grew close to the 23-year-old Hendrickje Stoffels, who had previously served as his maid. Her image appears in many works of his late period.

Birth of His Daughter Cornelia
In 1654 Rembrandt and Hendrickje's daughter Cornelia was born; the parish council censured Hendrickje for "sinful cohabitation" with the artist.
