Peut-on la contempler ?
Londres, Royaume-Uni
Elle appartient à la collection, mais n’est pas présentée en ce moment.
This piece is an artwork by contemporary artist Eric van Hove, in collaboration with an atelier of Moroccan craftsmen. It is a reproduction of the Air Intake Manifold from a V12 Laraki car engne, the first all-Moroccan car designed by Abdelsalam Laraki. Unfortunately Laraki was not able to have the car's engine made in Morocco, so van Hove has now realsied his dream, with an artistic twist. Each of the 465 components has been hand-made using traditional Moroccan craft techniques, processes and decoration. Each craftsman introduced their own skill and innovation into the part they made, and each is fully credited for their creation.
The piece forms part of a larger series of artworks based on pieces of this car. Each piece in the series is given an edition number, referring to the artist's commitment that he will only produce a limited number of unique realisation of each engine part.
