Dans la vie de Félix Edouard Vallotton
La vie entièreafter 1918
Winters in Cagnes-sur-Mer, summers in Honfleur
After the war Vallotton concentrated on still lifes, “composite landscapes” built in the studio from memory and imagination, and frankly erotic nudes. Dogged by ill health, he and his wife spent their winters at Cagnes-sur-Mer in Provence, where they bought a small house, and their summers at their house in Honfleur.

“The perfection of an egg”: a diary note on still life
In his Honfleur studio Vallotton painted flowers, fruit and vegetables with extreme precision; he noted in his diary: “More than ever the object amuses me; the perfection of an egg; the moisture on a tomato… these are the problems for me to resolve.”
1922
His brother Paul opens a gallery in Lausanne
The artist's brother, the art dealer Paul Vallotton, founded the Galerie Paul Vallotton in Lausanne, which his descendants ran for many years.
