Watercolour by Frederick Tayler showing Fanny Kemble and William Abbot in the title roles of Romeo and Juliet, Covent Garden, 5 October 1829. The image shows the lovers' first meeting in Act I, scene v at the Capulet's ball. Tayler dresses the disguised Romeo in a monk's habit to explain the text's references to him as a pilgrim.
