Maria met Christus en Jozef rusten bij een boom tijdens hun vlucht naar Egypte. Jozef houdt de grazende ezel aan een leidsel vast. Om hen heen zitten overal putti. Een putto blaast op een bazuin met een vaandel waarop twee kleine schilden met het keurvorstelijke en hertogelijk wapen van Saksen staan.
