About the sculpture

This panel with a portrait of a man is made by an unknown artist, in the late 15th century in Italy in the Emilian.

This was acquired as a portrait of Lodovico il Moro, Duke of Milan. However, it appears to represent a scholar, and its character suggests that it is Emilian rather than Lombard in origin.
