Public housing for workers
In the 1920s he becomes particularly interested in building public apartment blocks for working-class residents, to relieve the severe post-war housing shortage; he organises exhibitions of urban-planning projects featuring relatively cheap houses of simple construction.

Commander of the Legion of Honour
He is made a Commander of the Legion of Honour.
1927
On the jury for the League of Nations palace
As a member of the international jury for the competition to design the League of Nations palace in Geneva, he is among the minority who vote for Le Corbusier's project; Le Corbusier always spoke of his Viennese colleague with admiration.
