Las majas en el balcón (Les belles au balcon) est un tableau attribué à Francisco de Goya représentant deux femmes assises à un balcon. La toile fut réalisée entre 1808 et 1814 et est conservée au Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Publication of "Los Caprichos"
The series of 80 etchings "Los Caprichos" was published and sold in a perfume shop on the Calle del Desengaño; owing to the intervention of the Inquisition, only 27 sets were sold.

Death of his wife Josefa
Goya was widowed: his wife Josefa Bayeu died. The subsequent division of property with his son Javier became the principal source of information about the artist's daily life.
