La Grenouillère est un tableau réalisé par le peintre impressionniste Claude Monet en 1869. Il fait partie de la collection du Metropolitan Museum of Art à New York. La Grenouillère était un restaurant de bains sur la Seine. Elle était fréquentée par la petite bourgeoisie parisienne. Le tableau aurait été exposé à la deuxième exposition impressionniste de 1876.

London exile
Evading conscription during the Franco-Prussian War, Monet lived in London, where he studied Constable and Turner, met Pissarro and Whistler, and became acquainted with his first and principal dealer, Paul Durand-Ruel — an encounter decisive for his career.

Zaandam: 25 paintings
Leaving London, Monet settled in Zaandam in the Netherlands, where he painted twenty-five pictures (the police suspected him of revolutionary activity). During this period he also made his first visit to Amsterdam.
