Peut-on la contempler ?
Londres, Royaume-Uni
Elle appartient à la collection, mais n’est pas présentée en ce moment.
White, sharp of profile and unnervingly fragile, Dewa Eri’s abstract compositions consist of series of identically shaped sheets of extremely thin porcelain spaced evenly in fan-shaped arrangements and glued together along their inner edges with light-reactive adhesive. The craftsmanship is meticulous, the eloquence and poetry - ‘bones lingering silently in a boundless landscape’ as she has described her own work – undeniable.
Dewa was born in Kahoku, Ishikawa Prefecture, and studied ceramics (BA, MFA and PhD) at nearby Kanazawa College of Art, which has spawned many talented young craft practitioners in recent years. She has exhibited extensively since 2007, and in 2008 and 2009 respectively, her work was selected for the 8th International Ceramics Competition, Mino, Japan and the 5th Gyeonggi International Ceramic Biennale, Korea.
