Het feestmaal van Cleopatra in een paleisinterieur. Links ligt Cleopatra met ontblote borsten aan tafel, rechts zit Marcus Antonius. Rond de tafel staan verschillende gasten en leden van de hofhouding. Voorgesteld is het moment waarop Lucius Plancus verhindert dat Cleopatra een tweede parel uit haar oorbel neemt om in haar wijn op te laten lossen. Hierdoor verliest Marcus Antonius de weddenschap om wie het duurste banket kon geven. Op de grond voor de tafel ligt een jachthond.

After moving to the Spinhuissteeg, he became a member of the literary society Nil Volentibus Arduum, which apparently met at his house from 1676 to 1681.

He painted pictures for the decoration of Soestdijk Palace; in this period he also created stage sets for the theater and drawings for the theatrical works of Andries Pels and the collector Gerrit Reynst.
