Peut-on la contempler ?
Londres, Royaume-Uni
Elle appartient à la collection, mais n’est pas présentée en ce moment.
This ivory on wood crucifix figure was made in Italy in ca. 1680-1700. The back of the figure has been shaved down to fit onto the cross, which is a later addition. The arms are carved separately and attached. The figure is fixed with four nails onto the wooden cross. The whole is housed in a metal case, which has two hinged doors at the front and two more at the back, and which is likewise a later addition. It was evidently a devotional item.
