À propos de la sculpture

This bust depicting a girl was probably made by Ambrosius Gallé in South Netherlands in about 1730-1750. This bust is perhaps a mythological subject rather than a portrait.

The Netherlandish sculptor Ambrosius Gallé was active in Rome from 1726 to 1729, after which he went to Munich for a number of years, before returning to his native Antwerp. He is known have worked in ivory as well as marble.
