    The fall of the Berlin Wall in more than 50 works

    Vostell documents and processes the fall of the Berlin Wall in more than 50 works — from the 6-metre-wide triptych “9 November 1989”, inspired by graffiti and street art and made with spray paint, to smaller pieces.

  2. 1992

    A major retrospective in Cologne at six venues

    The city of Cologne honours Vostell with a major retrospective spread over six venues: the Stadtmuseum Köln, the Kunsthalle Köln, the Rheinisches Landesmuseum Bonn, the Kunsthalle Mannheim, Schloss Morsbroich in Leverkusen and the Städtisches Museum Mülheim an der Ruhr. Under the artistic direction of David Vostell, the documentary “Vostell 60 – Rückblick 92” is made.

    Becomes an honorary professor in Berlin

    He is named honorary professor in Berlin.

  4. late 1993

    Considers the museum complete

    By the end of 1993 Vostell regards the construction of the museum in Malpartida as complete; its inventory includes some fifty of his works from four decades: sculptures, reliefs, paintings, drawings and installations.
