Meeting Monet, Sisley and Bazille
While studying under Charles Gleyre, Renoir befriended Alfred Sisley, Frédéric Bazille and Claude Monet, who had entered the École; together with Cézanne and Pissarro, who joined them, they formed the core of the future Impressionist group. He grew especially close to Monet, with whom he often painted and shared lodgings.
