London: contacts with Mondrian and Gabo
In 1933–1939 Nicholson lives in London and keeps up creative contacts with Piet Mondrian and Naum Gabo; Mondrian’s neoplastic style, which he first met on visits to Paris, steers him in an abstract direction.

Triplets are born: Sarah, Rachel and Simon
With the sculptor Barbara Hepworth, whom he met in London and would marry in 1938, Nicholson has triplets in 1934: two daughters, Sarah and Rachel, and a son, Simon.
