Publishes the treatise “Perspectiva pictorum et architectorum”
The two-volume treatise (1693 and 1698; other accounts date the second volume to 1700), illustrated with 118 engravings and dedicated to Emperor Leopold I, is one of the earliest manuals on perspective for artists and architects; it goes into many editions into the 19th century and is translated into numerous languages, including Chinese. For his ceiling paintings Pozzo, also a mathematician, geometer and astronomer, used projection lanterns of his own design.

From Rome Pozzo sends the Society of Jesus designs for the churches of Ragusa (now Dubrovnik) and Ljubljana; other accounts say that in 1699 he delivered the plans for the Jesuit Collegium Ragusinum, while the plans for Ljubljana Cathedral date from 1700.

Designs the church of San Francesco Saverio in Trento
The design for the church of S. Apollinare in Rome from Pozzo’s treatise is used for the Jesuit church of San Francesco Saverio in Trento; its interior is likewise designed by Pozzo.

Designs the Jesuit churches in Montepulciano
Pozzo designs the Jesuit churches of San Bernardo and Chiesa del Gesù in Montepulciano, but his plans for the latter are only partly realized.
1702–1704
